Get ready SoCal, the world renown Ju Percussion Group from Taiwan to come perform for the FIRST TIME in Riverside at the FOX on Friday, April 15th in their 3 day “Heartbeats of the World 2016” U.S.A. Tour.
The Ju Percussion Group (JPG), founded by percussionist Ju, Tzong-Ching in January 1986, is the first percussion ensemble established in Taiwan. It consists of 13 talented percussionists and one composer in residence. These members, while having trained in the Western percussion tradition, have also gained a mastery of traditional Chinese percussion techniques. The JPG as pioneered the development of the percussive arts in Taiwan, with over 100 domestic and international performances annually, teaching approximately 150,000 audiences. Following the direction of Ju, Tzong-Ching the JPG has become renowned all over the world for its innovative blending of East and West, traditional and contemporary.
They have played for presidents of numerous countries around the world and they are
making RIVERSIDE one of their first stops.
